Audio Drop - Through the Fields

Last week I challenged myself to compose another short piece, under two minutes. Inspired by a walk through the fields I used to take daily when I was a child, walking the dog over a golf course and through brambles.
I'm currently still using MuseScore to compose music arrangements, and due to the small nature of my office I don't have a synth I can connect to physically play the parts. Theres a calm in this chaos though, and it brings new challenges. I play the parts live, recording them on my phone to check they work, before manually arranging on my computer. I know theres a better way to do it, but the challenge is part of the joy.
If you'd like the sheet music then, as always, drop me a message. In the meantime you can liten through the link below Hear File >>

Poetry Book Incoming

A new project, 12 years in the making. Read more if you're interested.
I started writing poetry as a creative outlet during my final year at university. The poems were bad, inconsistent and didn't make a lot of sense. When I moved to Cardiff I was asked to take part in an anniversary celebration of Roald Dahl works, and my longform poem 'Grandmother' was born. The beacon had been lit, and poetry began to fall out my fingers and into keystrokes.
I've collated some of these poems into a book, which is now in test prints! I was never sure I'd want these poems to see the light of day, but friends are powerful creatures, and the yearn to see these poems in the sunlight is contagious. If you're interested in the poetry book, let me know. It'll be a limited print run (books are expensive!) and I'll also be recording a version for Bandcamp.

Audio Drop - Rose

I've been busy this summer arranging music for the Video Game Orcestra, but I wanted to spend some time arranging a piece just for me. I wanted to challenge myself to create something with no percussion, which was difficult as a percussionist.
I'm pretty happy with the result. If you want the sheet music (for some reason) then drop me a message. Otherwise, listen through the link below Hear File >>

Audio Drop - Mayfly

A short piece I created for Hubfests 2025 Sound Design Competition, inspired by the idea that a mayfly only lives above water for 24 hours. What if a mayfly decided not to lay eggs or mate? Where would it go and what would it see?
The mayfly starts her journey underwater, emerging into the bright sunshine and surrounded by others, just like her. The swarm envelops her, instinct takes over for a brief moment. She should look for a mate. She should lay her eggs. She should ensure the survival of her species.
But what if she doesn't?
She flies, free, through meadows, through the city and eventually out to the sea. Her life is short, but her dreams are forever.
